Some homeowners are hesitant to invest in pressure washing because they associate it with the use of high pressure that will damage the service of their home. Luckily there’s an equally effective Soft Washing Process.
What is a Soft Wash? It’s a method of pressure washing that incorporates low pressure, 150-100psi, combined with a biodegradable chemical solution to safely remove mildew, bacteria, algae and other organic stains.
How does it work? To begin, the water and solutions will be sprayed over the surface of your home. This will allow it to get into all the dirty cracks and crevices. The chemical solution will start to break down any dirt it touches. The solution needs to sit on the surface for at least 10 minutes. But the exact time depends on how dirty the surface is. If there is a lot of grime or algae, the solution needs to sit for longer. After the solution has dwelled for the appropriate amount of time, it will be washed away with an ultra-low water pressure. As the solution washes away, the broken-down dirt will wash away with it.
How does it differ from normal pressure washing? With regular pressure washing being mostly used on durable, rugged surfaces like car exteriors, fences, patios, decks, driveways, and pathways, soft washing is a good alternative to clean your homes siding and roof. It is specifically effective on shingled or tile roofs which can be harmed by a normal pressure washing, and it also maintains paint and masonry longer.
What are some benefits of Soft Washing? Soft Washing is cost effective because it typically takes less time than pressure washing. With the use of biodegradable solutions, it is an eco-friendly approach to remove stains at the source and with the use of less water it helps to conserve natural resources.
