Detailing is typically broken down into two categories: exterior and interior. There are services that focus on these two areas specifically.
EXTERIOR DETIAL: involves detailed cleaning restoring or exceeding the original condition of the surface of the car’s finish ( typically paint or gel coat with a glossy finish) which includes chrome trim, Windows, wheels, and tires, as well as other visible components on a vehicle’s exterior. A variety of detailing products and techniques is used based on the vehicle’s surface type and condition.
INTERIOR DETAIL: involves detailed deep cleaning of the whole interior. Vehicle Interiors over the last past 50 years has a variety of materials, such as synthetics carpet upholstery, leather, vinyl, Plastics and natural fibers, carbon fiber composites which necessitates the use of a variety of cleaning techniques and products. Vacuuming is standard, upholstery stains maybe remove using steam cleaning and or hot water extraction, liquid and foam chemicals as well as brushes. Some non-porous surfaces may be polished.
